Reaper Cannon needs a BIG upgrade.
In its current state, it is not worth constructing as opposed to just keeping handheld tools and doing it yourself.
If the cannon was capable of destroying trees, copper and liftium deposits within 1-2 shots AND actively harvesting it into an inventory, maybe.
But if I have to waste a ton of shots just to drop a single tree, it's simply not worth the time, effort and materials.

I used it a few times, and here is my opinion about this mechanic.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, i used it only few times.
As for trees — yes, you can cut them down quickly with it. But is it really worth spending an entire battery of fuel on something like that? I’m not so sure. It would also be much more practical if a single shot gave you logs, or even better — wood planks directly. Right now, if I keep shooting the wood log, I just get a pile of wood, which at this stage of the game I already have more than enough of and often have to get rid of. In other words, for trees this cannon is basically useless — it spends a lot of resources just to either create a fallen trunk that I still have to run up to and chop, or to produce a pile of junk.
As for liftium deposits — it’s pretty much the same situation. I have to spend 1 fuel to craft a mining charges, then spend another fuel to craft lithium charge to fire it and get 1 liftium chunk on the end. -

TheadeusI know they want to make the reaper and winch an awesome combo, but it still won't be worth it. To harvest logs, I crash my ship into a bunch of trees, repair it easily and cheaply, then cut up the logs and haul them the 20 feet to a pallet. The reaper cannon might be worth it if the ammo were reusable like the winch.
